Gate Pose is a side bend that stretches the entire side body and is suitable for students of all levels. In the full version of the pose, your body mimics the look of a locked gate.This pose is a good preparatory position for standing, #side-stretching poses, like Extended Triangle (Utthita Trikonasana) and Extended Side Angle Pose (Utthita Parsvakonasana). It is also an excellent preparatory pose for the advanced twist, Revolved Head-of-Knee Pose (Parivrtta Janu Sirsasana), and for the arm balance, Visvamitra's Pose (Visvamitrasana). Begin kneeling on the floor with your hips and buttocks lifted up off your legs. Place a folded blanket beneath your knees, shins, and feet if you need the extra padding to feel more comfortable. Pizza, chips, burgers, and cookies will be available again for lunch every day in American schools, in place of the healthier and balanced lunches that the Former First Lady advocated through #LetsMove!, her signature public health campaign, aimed at combating #childhoodobesity. Years ago, celebrity chef #JamieOliver too tried to change the unhealthy eating habits in American schools, and was shocked by the hostile reaction to his crusade. #Jamie’s SchoolDinners had been a success in the UK, with teachers reporting a decrease in manic behaviour and an increase in concentration as a result of eating #healthierfoods. The chef crossed the Atlantic in 2009 pledging a food revolution in a country where two out of three people are overweight, but did not succeed.

Após uma consulta com pediatra, quando foi apontado o risco de #obesidade em uma de suas filhas, ela decidiu mudar o estilo alimentar da família , mesmo não abrindo mão de participar das campanhas com o esposo. 🥕Nesse processo ela aprendeu a importância dos #alimentosfrescos e #sazonais. “Ao ver minhas filhas comerem salada de ervilha e macarrão com couve-flor, me dei conta que até pouco tempo antes a maior parte do que sabíamos sobre alimentação havia chegado até nós por meio de propaganda de tudo embalado, congelado ou processado para a conveniência... Ninguém fazia propaganda de itens frescos e saudáveis - a crocância de uma cenoura, a inigualável doçura de um tomate.” 🥕Entre as ações da campanha #Letsmove estavam: 🥕 uma horta plantada no terreno da Casa Branca para uso da família e dos funcionários 🥕acordos com grandes empresas fornecedoras de alimentos às escolas para que diminuíssem quantidade de açúcares e gorduras nos produtos 🥕acordos para melhoria das informações nas embalagens dos industrializados 🥕 campanha pra melhor acesso a produtos frescos nos grandes centros 🥕influenciou a aprovação de uma lei para melhoria da qualidade das merendas escolares. 🥕Tudo isso me fez refletir que a saúde das nossas crianças tem muita influência da atenção dos pais, mas também do que é oferecido nas escolas e do que é pensado como prioridade política, assim como sofre muita influência da publicidade e da mídia. 🥕🥕 #leiturasdeaninha

Tuesday Trainer Tip with Dean. We asked. " If you could give someone one piece of advice what would that be?" Answer: "My answer is 2 part😁." Part 1️⃣: "The dangers of waiting till we "feel like exercising" or "having enough energy to exercise". Believe me when I say we ALL have days when we don't "feel like" training or don't "feel" we have enough energy to hit the gym. Trust the science! Our bodies will give us all the positive feedbacks associated with exercise (improved energy, confidence and mood, less stress, better sleep, less stiffness and soreness etc.....) And I am a believe that fitness is a catalyst for improving other aspects of our lives." Part 2️⃣: "Find your WHY. A deeper WHY can really help in pre-planning workouts and meals and recovery (mobility/restoration), can identify and overcome challenges (time, motivation). My deeper WHY, aside from teaching at The Movement😉, is no matter my age I have the capacity to do all the sports and activities I love to do for as long as possible at the highest level." 2 habits to master (and I'm working on this too): ✅ Visualization. Picture yourself fitter, stronger, doing more activities, happier etc.. Do this every morning. ✅ Positive affirmations. Every morning give yourself a serious boost. Your brain is like a computer and your thoughts are like programmes that run your computer.
