I still have a long way to go; I can’t do a pistol squat without blocks and the goddess pose is a sonagun. • However; I have come so far and I’m not stopping now. When we take a good look at the many things that over time we unintentionally and intentionally have attached to our being; other people's issues, destructive habits, the bi product of unhealthy eating, unhealthy relationships, social programming...we can see that in order to truly be ourselves, we need to release the things that are not us. Each individual person would need to unpack the version of themselves that they are unhappy with having created. Remove the onion layers one at a time or all together in order to reveal the core of our beautiful being. It requires taking a look at suffering, pain, anxiety and anger as a big red flag/sign that we are not where we are supposed to be in our consciousness. That our soul is screaming to get all the clothes and things out of the suitcase we thought we needed and repack the suitcase with the clothes and things we actually know we want to take on our journey, things that will make us shine and feel good, to use an analogy, instead of things that will weigh us down or that will enable us in being something we are not. When we hold onto negative things we can often make them define us, it becomes our personality, what we become known for and sometimes unbeknownst to us. It takes a lot of energy, to hold space for toxicity and dis-ease for our soul. It is taxing emotionally, physically and spiritually. Instead we can acknowledge the issue by unpacking it to its core, then seeing how far we have come through the issue, avoid holding regrets, know that no matter what we are in a spiritual school testing out our emotions and our capacity for many things and all things pass including us, so the goal is to see the issue for what it is, give thanks and release it from your being. Love yourself, be proud of yourself for the strength, for the honesty, for the endurance and embrace your power as an eternal being in a human suit...then get on with the business of getting stronger and compassionate, wise, joyful and filled with love so you can be of service to the world, contributing your light, so we can each ascend to higher planes of reality and leave duality and dark times in the dust.

I had lot of knee pain initially when I started practising this asana but later on I enjoyed a lot. That desire to believe in love that never left me. And it’s a choice. The choice to stop listening to those who want to take me down. The choice to put myself first. Various insults, mostly about my physical appearance, my life choices, my practice, my writing. I love my body, stretch marks, cellulite and curves included. I love it because I spent too much time hated it. I am done doing that. When it comes to my life there is nothing that anybody can say that can make me doubts my choices. I am in love, I am getting married and I am excited about it. Why should I not be? My practice is not only the result of my hard work and dedication but is also expression of my soul so, it is perfect. There is nothing wrong in the way I move and how I teach. Our bodies were made to move. Yet, we don't do it nearly enough. We sit in a car (or a bus or a train) to go to a job where we sit for 8+ hours followed by another commute where we sit and then we get home exhausted so we sit on the couch and watch TV. Our bodies crave movement, but we can't seem to find the time or energy to do it. So here is what we propose: make an appointment with yourself to move for 15 minutes each day -- that's it! You can go for a walk or dance or run in place or do yoga. Whatever you want to do. If you need some inspiration, we LOVE @lyt.yoga and the online platform of yoga classes created by @lara.heimann . There are classes ranging from 15 minutes to 75 minutes on there (for those days that you can and want to move more.) Today’s pose is Runners Lunge (no Sanskrit for this one). This pose is great for opening up the hips and encouraging mobility along the frontline of your body. There are variations to this pose and I like to go for the back knee down and head heavy for more of a restorative effect. This pose is super helpful in releasing tension so you can slow down and reflect. Somethings I’ve been reflecting on are Tapas (self-discipline) and Isvara-pranidhana (ability to surrender, devotion, faith). I find that these two go hand-in-hand. It takes so much work to keep ourselves in it to win it. Self-discipline is without a doubt required for any type of practice, but in my experience this can sometimes come back to bite us. Discipline is great for progress and change don’t get me wrong, although I believe when we begin to see the fruits of our discipline it tends to worry us a bit. It worries us so much that we may even try to further discipline ourselves for an even better result although it’s not required. Rather than letting go of outcomes, we cling on to them while amidst our work, in turn taking our minds away from the present moment. When this happens we risk losing ourselves, to ourselves. Rather than obsessing over outcomes, or clamoring for the next best result, let us surrender to what is. Be disciplined in your practice and life, but remember to channel that discipline into faith. Keep doing the work. ⬅️April 2019 and Oct 2019➡️ In the first photo, I really struggled to hold the pose and I couldn’t even grab my foot. It was hard for me to sit up straight and I couldn’t even turn my neck. This pose has definitely come easier over the months. I can grab my foot now and I can look up with ease. Be patient.
